Character's History: link
Character's Personality: Stolas tends to be quite carefree and flippant, often trying to avoid or brush off serious situations, particularly those involving his ex-wife. He is often very dismissive and selfish, ignoring others' concerns and trying to impose his own desires, as seen when he takes his daughter to a theme park despite her protests. Stolas tends to underestimate Blitz, talking down to him and disregarding his boundaries. However, when faced with others' emotions, particularly tears, he becomes more willing to listen and offer apologies. Despite his sincerity, his promises to improve often fade over time.
Stolas usually presents a cheerful and carefree demeanor, with a playful and dramatic personality. Despite being highly intelligent, he can be impulsive and easily swayed by his emotions, acting quickly without much thought. In his relationships, he appears somewhat detached and unserious. Stolas struggles to communicate his feelings when faced with challenging situations, and he stumbles over his words when trying to defend himself. He is also prone to tears when under emotional pressure. Despite his selfishness, Stolas possesses a caring nature and generally treats others with compassion, albeit imperfectly.
Stolas experiences a profound sense of loneliness, yearning for affection and validation. His desire for companionship primarily revolves around the imp Blitz, but he is also open to affection from others who show an interest in him. Stolas is unabashedly expressive about his desires and fantasies, employing elaborate, explicit language to communicate what he seeks in a sexual partner. His depression is deeply rooted in his loneliness, as well as the trauma from his abusive ex-wife. He copes with this by using "happy pills," which helps alleviate his anxiety and lift his mood. However, he experiences significant distress and low moods when he cannot access these medications.
Stolas can be angered by specific situations or people. He can become argumentative with Stella to screaming levels, or commanding when it comes to dealing with humans or Blitz getting into trouble. He can be defiant in nature when angered, as seen when kidnapped by Striker. To his credit, he does not seem to talk badly about those who anger him except to their faces, instead of behind their back, except for a slip up in the moment of the fight. However, he tends to cool down relatively quickly unless he's engaged in an argument with Stella.
Stolas shows a tendency to make self-sacrifices as the series progresses. He grows more assertive, especially when it comes to spending time with his daughter, Octavia. He stands up against authority and risks personal consequences to achieve his goals, such as defying his brother-in-law and breaking the rules to see Octavia again. His profound affection for his daughter is evident as he is willing to fight for her. Stolas' selfless act of saving Blitz's life highlights his deep care and willingness to sacrifice himself for those he loves. These examples illustrate how far he will go to protect the individuals who matter to him.
Despite his initially flippant and selfish demeanor, Stolas' true nature is more complex. Deep down, he is insecure, lonely, and compassionate, as evidenced by his remorse about hurting others and his concern when those close to him are distressed. He may struggle to express himself, particularly when confronted with his own anxieties. However, Stolas cares deeply for those he loves and ultimately values their happiness, even if it means making sacrifices. Stolas shows that he has the potential to grow and accept responsibility for his mistakes and the challenges that come with it, as well as learn from them to make amends.
